General questions on meteorological data needed for HYSPLIT • Paleoclimate grids

I'd like to run HYSPLIT simulations using a paleoclimate grid. Since CMIP6 does not have paleoclimate simulation data at sub-monthly resolution, I'd have to run my own simulation, say with CESM2, with 3-hourly resolution for example, and save the variables required by HYSPLIT. I'd just like to ask if this approach is feasable, that is, will I be able to transform climate grids from CESM2 to HYSPLIT-compatible files? If so, what variables would I need to save?
