Maybe a bit late for you but I'm sharing this in case it might help other users.
I am running a lot of trajectories in the Arctic with ERA5 meteo files a input. I only took the northern hemisphere in the grib files in the first place, but I had the same problem as you guys. My trajectories were just stopping when reaching the 180th meridian. I've tried with version 5.3.0 and version 5.4.2 and the issue stays the same. Unfortunately I think the only workaround is to download ERA5 files for the whole planet. It is now working for me but I'll need to download terabytes of data...
